Part II

Our old red brick church was started in 1908, and when finally finished and the debts paid, the dedication occurred in 1911. The Rev. R.A. Crosby was the pastor at that time and the dedication service was conducted by Bishop Collins Denny. The actual cash outlay for the building was $3600, but most of the labor was donated. Member P.M. Williams was the architect. Mr. Williams was the designer and builder of most of the early brick buildings and many of the homes in Texhoroa at that time. The building committee was composed of J.R.P. Sewell, P.M. Williams, W.H. Olds, and C.C. Reed.

The first regular service was held in the new church on May 14, 1911, and this article appeared in the Texhoma Times the previous Thursday. "The new Methodist Church will be open for services this Sunday for both Sunday School and preaching. At the morning and evening services both, special music will be rendered:"
